"Absolutely perfect spiral review. Some of the problems are a little advanced for 3rd grade, maybe we will be ready for them at the end of the year! :) "

Description

Math spiral review, open-ended math tasks, numberless word problems, math review games, and multiplication practice all bundled into ten minutes a day!

If you teach 3rd grade math, you've probably heard about the importance of review, math talks, numberless word problems, and consistent fact practice... but planning all of that on top of your regular lessons and grading. Well, that just sounds overwhelming.

I'm here to help you! I've come up with a routine that only needs ten minutes a day, and you will have incorporated "all the good stuff." And the best part? It is super low prep! The only part of this program that requires printing are the math task cards! Print, laminate, and use those for years!

Here's what the routine looks like:

Monday: 4 spiral review problems--students solve them on white boards

Tuesday: Students complete one of seven different kinds of math tasks on a white board

Wednesday: Walk students through a numberless word problem in three easy steps.

Thursday: Students use the task cards to play a math review game. Use any board or card game and play as normal, except before student's take their turn, they must complete a task card. I'd also like to note on days we are short on time, I will also just pull up the task cards and have students solve on white boards... :)

Friday: Use the Google forms multiplication quizzes to test students on their math facts. Various data trackers for you and them are included!

This is a helpful supplement for my 3rd grade math block. I like the daily approach - Monday Review, Tuesday Task, etc.
