Description

As my students moved above 100 I thought, "Wouldn't it be great to have a chart to 1000 to use just like my hundreds chart?" I searched but couldn't find a great one, so I made one - and now you don't have to do all that work! We all know how essential a hundred's chart is to students developing their number sense but sometimes we forget that when they move to higher numbers. Yet, it is just as essential.

Not sure how to use a 1000 chart? These charts can support other class activities with number and place value as well as other maths operations like addition and subtraction. I give you ideas for games to use with the charts to increase number sense and place value.

Included:

  • Multiple format options for charts 1-1000
  • 1-1100 chart (the extra century to support students moving over the 1000 break)
  • a thousand chart for each thousand to 10 000 (eg 7001 - 8000). These could be combined to make a wall display to 10 000
  • A4 and A3 options. Note: I do not recommend printing these on A4 as the numbers are too small, but A4 option is included because some people do not have access to an A3 printer and they can be enlarged to A3 on a photocopier after printing

Note: as A4 and A3 options are included in different files, you will download a zip folder. You will need to uncompress this before accessing the files.

Meets Australian Curriculum Maths:

Year 2: AC9M2N01

Year 3: AC9M3N01

Another great use! So glad they loved them. We use them constantly in my classroom.
