Description

Bring variety to your math centers with this fun & challenging set of mystery number place value riddles for three-digit numbers. With both task cards & clip cards in this bundle, this resource is easy to differentiate for the needs of your students!

Your students will use both math and critical thinking skills to solve these riddles, narrowing the field of possible answers as each clue is added. You'll use these mental math riddles for early finishers and for spiral review all through the school year!

Because they vary in difficulty, these riddles are easy to differentiate to keep all levels of learners engaged in practice! The clip cards offer the additional support / differentiation of providing learners with three possible answers, making it an easier task.

Your students will solve the riddles using clues involving math skills in addition, subtraction, geometry, and comparing numbers (greater than / less than) to solve these riddles. There are no clues using division in this resource.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE IN THIS PLACE VALUE BUNDLE!

⭐ 50 multi-step place value riddle task cards for three-digit numbers in color

The same 50 riddle cards in black & white, as an ink-saving option. They print well on brightly colored cardstock!

⭐ A projectable version of the same riddles, with each riddle displaying as a full page. This file of full page riddles is also usable as a digital resource with the TPT Easel digital overlay.

⭐ An answer key for you or your students, provided in both color and black and white.

⭐ A student recording sheet

Four task cards for independent use in math centers, with ideas for different ways to use the place value riddle cards

Four blank cards, for your students to create their own riddle cards

⭐ Two sets of matching cards, with 25 cards in each set, for students to use independently or with a partner, matching riddle cards to answers, providing a higher level of support than using the riddle cards without answers.

24 printable place value riddle clip cards (the same clues as those in the task card set, but in a supportive format)

Student recording page & answer key for the clip cards (or you can easily make these clip cards self-correcting by marking the answer with a dot on the back of the card!)

Two easy-prep one-page board games for math centers

HOW WILL YOU USE THESE RESOURCES?

* An ideal activity for early finishers!
