"I used these templates as a final project for our geometry unit. I gave students measurements on these shapes and they were to build the shape and then find the surface area of them! They enjoyed seeing these shapes and building them for a hands-on activity."

"My students were struggling. I was trying to draw shapes for them to have a hands on activity. This resource saved me so much time and the students loved it!"

Description

The purpose of these Three-Dimensional Shapes (Cut & Fold Nets) is to assist children in developing spatial awareness, understanding 3D shapes, and practicing fine motor skills by visually representing and manipulating 2D representations of 3D objects.

This is an excellent extension lesson for children who are familiar with geometric shapes and solids.

Includes the following 12 cut-and-fold nets: cube, cone, cylinder, triangular prism, tetrahedron (triangular-based pyramid), pyramid, pentagonal pyramid, hexagonal pyramid, hexagonal prism, rhombic prism, octahedron, and dodecahedron.

Each cut-and-fold net prints on 8½" x 11" paper (letter size) and includes a small picture of the folded shape.
