Description

This timeline allows the students to enter eight dates. Whether students are writing a personal timeline of significant events in each year of their lives, recalling eight events in sequence of a story, eight important dates during the Civil War, or another timeline, this timeline will support them in making sense of those events. Research says that graphic organizers are especially helpful for language learners to make content comprehensible (Goldenberg, 2013). The three shapes allow teachers flexibility in student directions. The arrow can be used for the date, the circle of a symbol or picture, and the lines for words or a descriptive sentence.

This organizer aligns with CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.CCRA.R.3: Analyze how and why individuals, events, or ideas develop and interact over the course of a text.

Overall, great organizer. The circles were a bit small to write or record information in.
