"We teach about Alaska in Lower Elementary Montessori classrooms. This was a great tool! I also used it with other resources to teach in 6th grade!"

Description

During a Native American unit, students learn about the life and traditions of the Tlingit (pronounced "clingit") Native Americans that lived in the Northwestern part of North America (Alaska).

Extension activity: Using di-cut animals and paper towel rolls, students can make their own Totem Poles, like the Tlingit Indians. Each animal on the Totem Pole represents a family trait. Your students will love this activity!

Extremely useful in working with remote students. We used this during a unit on Tlingit Culture and the importance of totem poles. Thank you!
