Description
This book used to be taught in high school. In my experience, it can be tough to read/get through with 8th graders. For the last several years, I have watched the movie first, as the visual medium not only increases comprehension when we get to the novel, but the students love to talk about the film and novel differences even before we get to those particular lessons.
This year I may watch the movie until the court scene as I do not want to spoil the revelation about Tom Robinson and then when we finish the novel go back and finish it...Haven't decided yet.
This is the start of the novel. This lesson is centered on chapter 1.
