This zip file contains materials for middle school science lessons on the creation of topographic maps and profiles as part of an Earth science unit. The unit was designed for 7th graders in NYC.


Includes:

-3 SMARTboard .notebook lesson presentations, in one file (35 slides total). Includes information for students to create a 'mountain' and then a topographic map.
*PowerPoint version of same presentation file (35 slides) added. Text is plainly formatted, so you will need to resize text and add color as desired.
-Topographic maps assignment/class activity.
-Topographic profiles assignment/activity.
-2 homework assignments.
-1 quiz


Presentations serve as lesson plans that guide the teacher through the entire lesson.
