Description
Students work individually or with a partner to create their own rigid figure on a 4-quadrant grid. They will reflect it, translate it, and rotate it across the coordinate plane. Students will have fun expressing their creative side while applying the rules for transformations.

This resource was helpful, and I appreciated the free resources that supplemented my lessons.
I adapted this for my own use in the classroom but this is a great project for review or assessment of transformations
I used this project as a Final Product for my 8th graders and both they and I loved it!
I have used this project a number of times. The great thing about this project is that it can be dialed up for the high achieving by asking them to use more vertices and include coloring that reflects, rotates and translates with the figures. It can also be dialed down for the struggling students by completing the project with partners and using simple figures. THANK YOU for this awesome project.
My students loved this project!
This will demonstrate the students knowledge of transformations. Very Clever use of the coordinate plane.
Wonderful resource! My kids will have so much fun with this project. The seller even shared student examples with me to inspire creativity. What an awesome freebie!
This was my first shared project on TPT. So glad you are able to use it. Thank you for the feedback :-)

CCSS8.G.A.2
Understand that a two-dimensional figure is congruent to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, and translations; given two congruent figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the congruence between them.
CCSS8.G.A.3
Describe the effect of dilations, translations, rotations, and reflections on two-dimensional figures using coordinates.
CCSS8.G.A.4
Understand that a two-dimensional figure is similar to another if the second can be obtained from the first by a sequence of rotations, reflections, translations, and dilations; given two similar two-dimensional figures, describe a sequence that exhibits the similarity between them.
