Description

In this Transformations Escape Room Activity, students find themselves hired by a crazy girlfriend to solve the puzzles her boyfriend created for her and find their way out of the room! To escape in this activity, they must solve multiple types of transformation problems, including translations, rotations, reflections, and dilations!

Students will work together at three different stations to find hidden QR codes & clues and ultimately solve for the combination code that will unlock the door!

Students must solve for x and y values of coordinates or shapes that have undergone transformations. Students should have a solid knowledge of graphical and algebraic representations of dilations, rotations, reflections, and translations before attempting this activity. Makes a great end-of-unit review!!

Included in This Download:

(1) PowerPoint with Story & Mission for Students

(3) QR Code Stations w/ student worksheets

(1) Transformation Guide w/ access to Set-up Instruction Video

(1) Full Key

**Highly recommend purchasing a 4-digit combination lock, but an alternative is suggested in the Transformation Guide**

This highly engaging activity will require some set-up and is not a "print & go" game. Teacher prep will require cutting out & taping up QR codes, setting up 3 stations, cutting out 6 cards and placing them in 6 envelopes, acquiring & setting up a 4-digit combination lock, and I highly recommend watching the set-up instructional video & reading all directions.

My students loved using this resource! It did require a good amount of preparation beforehand on my part (and my students got a little confused on the QR codes) but overall they liked being able to use what they learned on an activity that isn't just a worksheet.
