Description

This PowerPoint presentation explains the three transformations: reflection, translation and rotation. It also relates each to a simpler term: flip, slide, or turn. For younger students, the terms flip, slide, and turn can be emphasized more than the actual mathematical terms. With each transformation term, students are reminded that the object should still be the same size and the same shape, just moved in some sort of way.

This presentation includes definition slides for each term, then 30 slides of examples for students to practice with. These slides can be used all at once, or broken down into multiple lessons or activities. Students can look at the pictures given and either turn and talk about them, share out with the class, work on them in centers or stations, etc. These slides can also be used as a quiz or test check for transformation understanding. I have numbered each transformation to help make this option easier for you. This presentation could also be used either for reteach or in a small group setting.

In order to keep the formatting and fonts after download, I have provided the presentation in PDF format. However, if you have the need for the PPT format of this product, please message me and I will make sure to get it to you.

I left this for a substitute to use to guide my students. It was very helpful and convenient.
