Description

Use these Vizual Notes to teach students about amplitude, period, phase shift and vertical shifts of sine and cosine waves. "Ghost images" of the parent functions are graphed in gray to help students see how the function changes. They are a great summary sheet to follow up with the Graphing Sines and Cosines Investigation.

Vizual notes are a wonderful way to activate the creative side of the brain while learning material that often just uses the logical side. Hand students a copy of the notes sheet (page 2), break out the colored pencils and gel pens and let the fun begin!

If you are looking for more, I've bundled my trig resources.

I used this as a quick learning tool because the physics teacher realized that many of her students had not covered periodic functions in their math class last year. We were able to spend just a few days, and with this resource we covered everything she wanted them to have for her lesson.
