Description

The Next Generation Science Standards challenges us to teach student how the earth records its past. Sure, there's lots of information on fossils, but what about analyzing tree rings and ice cores?!

I start this lesson by talking about how humans (and the time before humans) did not record information about what was happening in the earth...but the cool thing is...the earth was recording it!

These lessons last about a week in a 45-minute long class each day.
Students will learn about how scientists study both tree rings and ice cores to learn about earth's past. They will analyze what happened in earth's history according to the data presented.

Awesome and informational! My students loved these. I didn't use the tree rings, but the ice cores was definitely so great.
