Each photo is labeled. This visual vocabulary is a great way to increase your students’ concepts of new words. Expanding a student’s vocabulary leads to an increase in reading comprehension! Introducing vocabulary visually significantly develops understanding and retention of a word.

If you have a projector connected to your computer, you can use these photos without making copies. Use one page a day to introduce the vocabulary. (You could use my center the same way: use the scripted center as your lesson plan. This is another product of mine.)

*Hint: If you don't have an efficient color printer, you may want to save the photos to a flash drive and take them to a “copy” store. This expense will be worth it! Developing a photo resource for hands on and visual learning will be vital for your students’ learning and if laminated they can be used for many years.
