Triangle Congruency Methods Task Cards

The following task cards are a way for students to check their progress on the conceptual understandings of triangle congruence methods. Students will determine if the triangles are congruent based on the markings. If they are, students will identify how they are congruent (SAS, AAS, ASA, SSS, or HL).

What’s included?

  • 16 Task Cards (with or without QR codes)
  • Student recording sheet
  • answer key

Using it in the classroom:

You can choose how you want to implement these cards in your everyday lessons, but they are recommended as formative assessments at the end of your daily lessons. You can have students do all the cards or you can rotate them between groups of students.

Use geometric descriptions of rigid motions to transform figures and to predict the effect of a given rigid motion on a given figure; given two figures, use the definition of congruence in terms of rigid motions to decide if they are congruent.
Use the definition of congruence in terms of rigid motions to show that two triangles are congruent if and only if corresponding pairs of sides and corresponding pairs of angles are congruent.
