Description

Students practice finding the measures of triangle midsegments in this collaborative activity which also builds academic language. Partner A/C works on problem 1 while partner B/C does the same. Different problems, but same answers. If they have the same answer, they move on, if they have different answers, they work together to decide who (if either) has the correct answer.

Version A/B has simple diagrams

Version C/D asks students to write simple equations to find the measures

This works well for students of all levels. Use one set in class and assign the other set as homework or use on different days. Makes a great sub plan as well since students can work together to find solutions. Also included are exit tickets (16 different versions) to check for understanding.

Apply and extend previous understandings of multiplication and division and of fractions to multiply and divide rational numbers.
Understand that multiplication is extended from fractions to rational numbers by requiring that operations continue to satisfy the properties of operations, particularly the distributive property, leading to products such as (–1)(–1) = 1 and the rules for multiplying signed numbers. Interpret products of rational numbers by describing real-world contexts.
