Students practice math with their trick-or-treat candy.
To complete this homework assignment, students will have to count all of their Halloween candy and complete number sense activities around their totals. The worksheet includes:
*Finding the number on the hundreds chart
*Creating a fact family
*Representing their total with base-ten blocks
*Answering story problems that involve addition and subtraction
I like to ask students to complete just number 1 (counting their candy) on Halloween night, and the rest the next day. I bring a couple of bags of candy with me the day after Halloween to give to any students who did not go trick-or-treating.
