What teachers are saying:

  • Always on the hunt for quality true/false resources - this is everything I need in one place. Love that I can use these throughout the year and students will be familiar with them to really focus on the math content.
  • Students enjoyed this activity. For students with disabilities and my ENLs, the picture scaffolds were beneficial. They were able to access the standard and then build on from there.
  • I teach in Alberta so don't use CCSS. I am always looking for resources that help me easily include higher level thinking but have many entry points, and this is fabulous for that. It allows me to have concrete assessment of group activities that I already include in my teaching. Thank you!

I used this resource as both a formative assessment to see where students were at with true/false as well as a practice for students so that they could really gain fluency in the skill. I appreciated that it was very independent and comprehensively demonstrated whether a student did or did not understand the meaning behind the terms true and false.

Compare two two-digit numbers based on meanings of the tens and ones digits, recording the results of comparisons with the symbols >, =, and <.
Apply properties of operations as strategies to add and subtract. If 8 + 3 = 11 is known, then 3 + 8 = 11 is also known. (Commutative property of addition.) To add 2 + 6 + 4, the second two numbers can be added to make a ten, so 2 + 6 + 4 = 2 + 10 = 12. (Associative property of addition.)
Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10. Use strategies such as counting on; making ten (e.g., 8 + 6 = 8 + 2 + 4 = 10 + 4 = 14); decomposing a number leading to a ten (e.g., 13 - 4 = 13 - 3 - 1 = 10 - 1 = 9); using the relationship between addition and subtraction (e.g., knowing that 8 + 4 = 12, one knows 12 - 8 = 4); and creating equivalent but easier or known sums (e.g., adding 6 + 7 by creating the known equivalent 6 + 6 + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13).
