Give students practice in mastering concepts of working with equations by focusing on specific skills. These 16 worksheets provide straight-forward and consistent question-types that allow students to build fluency and confidence in developing the strategies taught in math curriculums for 1st grade.

The 6 math vocabulary posters support students’ acquisition of academic language. The bold text throughout the worksheets allow students to see examples of how this language is used and its connections to actual math problems.

Please note that the 6 vocabulary posters are REPEATED from previous units. There was no additional vocabulary for this topic, so I've included relevant posters. If you have any of my previous units you will get some of the same posters with a different border.

This is a PDF printable version of this digital product. Much of the content is the same.

Many students need repetition to understand mathematical concepts and see the patterns to gain number sense. These practice worksheets are great for homework, independent practice, quick-assessments, and more. They are especially great for students still developing their literacy skills, such as English language learners, because you can model one problem and the students can continue to practice on their own before they are able to read the directions independently.

An answer key is included.
