Description

This hands-on Turkey Ten Frame Game will help children practice counting skills using real objects.

Children will count the turkeys on each mat and count out the same number of Unifix cubes (or other counter) to place in the ten frame. They can then either write the numeral in the square with dry erase marker or use one of the numeral cards (included).

Differentiate this game for children who need help counting by having them place a Unifix cube on each turkey and then transfer the cubes to the ten frame. This helps children with one-to-one correspondence.

Materials Needed: You can use Unifix cubes or other types of counters, such as flat floral marbles, plastic chips, marker caps, Fall table scatter, mini Fall erasers, turkey foamie shapes, etc.

My materials are designed especially with Pre-K in mind, but will work great in Kindergarten as well.

My students enjoyed using this before Thanksgiving! Students were able to complete independently. The directions and expectations were very clear and was a great way to keep them engaged in math before the Thanksgiving break.
