Description
This is a great tool for young students who are being introduced to double digit addition. The work mat give students boxes to write numbers in to make sure their tens and ones are separated and that they are correctly written on top of each other. There is space on the side for a drawing if needed.
In my classroom I print these mats on card stock and laminate them. Students use them throughout our double digit addition unit to solve equations.

This resource can be used in many ways! I made a few copies and put them in a plastic covering so we can reuse them again and again in my math centers!
These were awesome to help the concept of 2 digit addition to my 1st graders. I printed them out and used sheet protectors so student can write on them and reuse them!
These are great to introduce muti-digit addition. It encourages students to show their thinking with the place value of the numbers, not just going through the algerithm.
This resource was absolutely perfect for all levels in my cross-categorical special education classroom! The materials were clear, engaging, and adaptable, making it easy to differentiate for a wide range of student needs. The activities kept my students engaged and challenged without being overwhelming, and they aligned beautifully with their IEP goals. This resource saved me so much time in planning and truly supported my students’ success. I highly recommend it to any special education teacher looking for versatile and effective materials!
I like that this resource included a work space so students can represent the equation using tens and ones.
My students enjoyed this resource during their centers.
Perfect!
