Description
This product aligns with Common Core math by supporting students in expressing two-digit multiplication solutions in three different ways. Students begin with the area model and can select base-ten blocks to make a model. Then they practice expanded form to support mental math. Finally they move to the standard algorithm. These strategies are developmentally appropriate for third through sixth grade students and are recommended Common Core Math approaches to solving two digit multiplication equations.
Each strategy has an example for review and step by step procedures to support students in these approaches. There are twenty problems for students to dive into with colors and math symbols to move and drag. This can be a great way to introduce, reinforce or review. You might consider this for homework or assessment as well.
