How to Use
Students can use these Emotions Task Cards with a partner, during therapy sessions, during social skills groups. A TOTAL of 148 scenarios are included in this mega bundle along with a vast array of handouts and lesson plans! Each task card contains a high quality vector image, to help the children to understand the scenario and generate more language to describe what's happening, how the person in the image is feeling, what they might be feeling as well as how the student would feel if this happened to them.

Special education teachers, speech and language pathologists and school counsellors could use these cards to help students to understand emotions and develop their emotional intelligence.

Understanding Emotions One contains the following resources:

  • 36 Emotions Task Cards for feeling Happy, Sad and Scared.
  • Emotional Scales for Understanding and Grading Emotions on Continuum For Higher Ability Students. Eg. Grading Happiness as 1 = content, 2 = cheerful, 3 = happy, 4 = delighted, 5 = ecstatic
  • Draw the Emotion Blank Face Printable
  • A lesson plan with ideas for how to extend the Lesson for higher ability pupils Eg. generating idioms to describe the emotional states

Understanding Emotions Two contains the following resources:

  • Differentiated Lesson Plans for Understanding Emotions proud, angry, confused, embarrassed and excited
  • 40 Understanding Emotions Scenario Cards with high quality illustrations
  • Emotions Visuals (8 Scenarios for each of the emotions; proud, angry, confused, embarrassed and excited)
  • 5 Emotional Scales for Understanding and Grading Emotions on Continuum For Higher Ability Students. Eg. Grading Embarrassed 1 = Self Conscious, 2 = Awkward, 3 = Embarrassed, 4 = Mortified, 5 = Humiliated.

  • Scale for Grading the Intensity of each emotion from 1 to 5
  • 4 Handouts, which explain the feeling and provide active coping strategies for dealing with disappointment, dealing with jealousy, dealing with guilt and dealing with boredom.
  • Ideas for how to extend the Lesson for higher ability pupils Eg. generating idioms to describe the emotional states, talking about what the emotion feels like in our bodies
