Fractions are one of the most difficult standards for most students. In the Understanding Fractions lesson, students will develop an understanding of what a fraction is and how the quantity is formed by parts to create a whole. Students will develop this understanding through forming fraction strips, comparing sizes of the strips and more.

The lesson included in this download can be used to help teach your students in whole group or small groups. Each of the activities (input and output) are interactive which will keep your students engaged.
