This scaffolded self-checking activity is perfect for students to identify the location of each place value. In 5th grade students begin work with decimal place values in several major standards. This activity teaches students how to use the place value chart and then progresses into students identifying the places on their own from the millions place into decimal place values to the thousandths place.
