Description

This is part of a series of bi-fold booklets on Understanding Math and Science topics. This document contains an eight-page bi-fold booklet that explains the concept of rounding numbers to nearest 10, 100, 1000.

The booklet should be used with the corresponding work booklet and should be a take home over the weekend project. Parents will help your students understand the concept!

It was created using book fold (WORD) and requires you to set your printer in duplex mode. You should end up with two pages printed on both sides that will fold into a booklet.

These booklets are designed to improve test scores. Not by teaching the test but by teaching the concept. Understanding makes testing easier.

You are encouraged to edit the booklet to meet the needs of your class. Rewrite, delete, add, etc. until you have the booklet that you want to use.

You should:

• Add your name to the booklet – something like: From the Desk of _______.

This could be placed on the back cover with the second line stating that this was in collaboration with Cokers Academy. Providing the booklet and having your name on it adds credibly between you and the parents of your students. Parents will appreciate that you took the time to make these booklets available. Having them on your side simplifies everything!

• Add pictures of your students to the booklet.

Because there are pictures, the booklets will be kept. In fact, one of your students will take and display the booklets in a future class reunion!

• Add clipart and color.

• Print the booklets on cardstock. The look, touch and feel makes a big difference.
