Description
This is part of a series of bi-fold booklets on Understanding Math and Science topics. This document contains an eight-page bi-fold workbook that allows student practice with reading fractional rulers.
The booklet should be used with the corresponding Understanding Ruler Fractions booklet and should be a take home over the weekend project. Parents will help your students understand the concept!
It was created using book fold (WORD) and requires you to set your printer in duplex mode. You should end up with two pages printed on both sides that will fold into a workbook.
These booklets are designed to improve test scores. Not by teaching the test but by teaching the concept. Understanding makes testing easier.
You are encouraged to edit the workbook to meet the needs of your class. Rewrite, delete, add, etc. until you have the booklet that you want to use.
You should:
• Put your name on the workbook – something like: From the Desk of _______.
This could be placed on the back cover with the second line stating that this was in collaboration with Cokers Academy. Providing the workbook and having your name on it adds credibly between you and the parents of your students. Parents will appreciate that you took the time to make these workbook available. Having them on your side simplifies everything!
• Print the booklets on card-stock. The look, touch and feel makes a big difference.
