Content Objectives Covered in this Assessment:

  1. Identify the organs of the male reproductive system on a diagram or model.
  2. List the endocrine and exocrine functions of the testes.
  3. Describe the composition of semen and identify the organs that produce it.
  4. Trace the pathway sperm follow as they travel from the testes to outside the body.
  5. Define spermatogenesis and meiosis.
  6. Describe the structure of a sperm and relate its structure to its function.
  7. Describe the effect of FSH and LH on testis and functioning.
  8. Identify the organs of the female reproductive system and discuss the function of each.
  9. Describe the functions of the vesicular follicle and corpus luteum of the ovary.
  10. Define endometrium, myometrium and ovulation
  11. On a model or diagram, label the cervix, fundus, and body of the female uterus.
  12. Define oogenesis.
  13. Describe the influence of FSH and LH on ovarian function.
  14. Describe the phases and controls of the menstrual cycle
  15. Describe the structure and function of the mammary glands.
  16. Indicate ways pregnancy alters the functioning of the mother’s body.
  17. List some substances that can cause abnormal fetal development.
  18. Describe the stages of labor.
  19. Define menarche and menopause.
  20. List common reproductive system imbalances seen in adults and older individuals.
