Description

This Unit contains 6 lessons for teaching the syllable division rules used within Multisyllabic words with R Controlled Vowel patterns.

The following rules for dividing syllables are used within these lessons: VC/CV, VCC/CV, VC/CCV with the following multisyllabic combinations: (Closed/R Vowel), (R Vowel/Closed), and (R Vowel/R Vowel) words.

Each lesson contains 4 sectionsReal Words, Nonsense Words, Application within Sentences, and Application within Stories.


The format for these lessons include many beneficial features:

1. No Prep, Ready to Print Phonics Lessons (for small or whole group).

2. Print and copy 2 sided on regular 8.5 by 11 paper (flip on short edge).

3. Fold in half to make a 4 pg. student booklet.

4. Paper resource allows for students to mark, code, or highlight on their copy.

5. Students enjoy I Spy activities (Use light colors to avoid bleeding through)

6. Numerous task items for Teacher Modeling, Guided & Independent Practice.

7. Word work that includes real word decoding and nonsense word decoding.

8. Application of skills in connected text vs. isolated word work.

9. Decodable text included that uses words & vocabulary from the lesson.

10. Repeated format for all lessons creates consistency for students.

11. Paper Copy is an easy resource for students to take home for extra practice.
