Unit Circle "Chase the Answer" Activity (Sin/Cos/Tan RADIANS)
Share

Description

This Unit Circle "Chase the Answer" activity is a unique way for students to practice solving basic trig problems using the unit circle, and is a great alternative to a worksheet. This product includes 14 cards that are ready to print, cut, and post around your classroom. Each card has a problem printed in large font (EXAMPLE: tan 2π), and the solution to a different problem printed in the box in the bottom right corner.

This activity can be done in groups or individually. It works really well as a review of this concept, so in a traditional classroom setting, I prefer to have students work in groups of 3-4. Students may start at any problem around the room. They solve the problem in front of them, and then look at the other cards around the room to find the solution (solutions are printed in the bottom right corner of each card). Then, they will work the problem on that card, and so forth. One card leads to another. There is only one correct answer for each card in the set. Cards should be posted in random order, so that students have to look around for the answer, and not just travel in a circle.

This is a fun, dynamic way to change up the learning in your classroom. It especially appeals to visual and kinesthetic learners, and incorporates differentiation because students can work at their own pace and self-check as they work. Some groups will be more independent than others, which allows you as the teacher to observe and step in where needed, or allow students to help each other when appropriate as well.

**This set only includes sin, cos, and tan problems with angles in radians. Check out these other products in my store to find versions that include more trig functions and problems with angles in degrees:
