Description
Are you caring for butterflies in your class this year? Bring some unplugged coding into your lessons about the life cycle of a butterfly and engage your students through hands on learning! Get started with sequential coding. This activity works perfectly for classes with limited access to devices. Perfect for Ontario's Coding expectations in Grade 1 and 2.
This Unplugged Coding package is all about the life cycle of a butterfly. Make a code to move the butterfly around the mat, stopping at each phase of its lifecycle. Finally, make your way to the leaf to lay more eggs and start the next generation. It's perfect for beginners, Kindergarten, and Grade 1 or 2. You can feel confident introducing your students to coding through a familiar idea while meeting curriculum expectations. Students work on sequential or directional coding skills.
Included in this resource:
Coding Mats:
- 2 ready to use 5x5 coding mats
- use the arrow pieces or coding blocks to make a path
- use the star pieces to transform
Pieces:

- print on card stock for added durability
