Unplugged Programming Activity Beebot
Share

Description

Students can use these worksheets to write unplugged programs for a robot that works just like the Bee-Bots. The robot must navigate a path to an item while avoiding other items.

The worksheets range in difficulty from easy (only requiring a few steps) to more complex (more than one path is available to use).

Mini robot pictures are included that can be printed and cut out for your students to use as a manipulative to help them decide which way the robot needs to turn.

Answers are included.

This is an excellent resource to use as it allows students to problem solve in unplugged programming! It also gave me a good insight into my students' understanding and abilities!

I liked the resource however it needed to be broken down more to differentiate for learners. Not all of my students to group forward steps together and this made it confusing for them.

I loved the design and concept, but there aren't enough fields to place the robots. Eg on the farm activity it takes more than 5 steps to get to the tree. It's forwards, forwards, turn left, forwards, forwards, turn left, forwards, forwards. On your answer sheet you did show an abbreviated version eg 2 forwards, but that makes it hard for very young learners who only are only just learning about programming robots. I would love a version that takes it a step back and has enough numbered fields for every single step.
