Description

This introductory activity is a great way to start the urinary system in a body systems unit.

Students will determine the structures and describe the functions of the urinary system as well as describe the relationship between the urinary system and other systems.

I have included to two versions:

1. Labeling structures and describing the functions & 2. Labeling structures, describing functions, and boxes to add in the systems that work closely with the digestive system.

I have also included a filled in version of how we usually complete this activity but there are plenty of ways to be creative with it!

NGSSMS-LS1-3
Use argument supported by evidence for how the body is a system of interacting subsystems composed of groups of cells. Emphasis is on the conceptual understanding that cells form tissues and tissues form organs specialized for particular body functions. Examples could include the interaction of subsystems within a system and the normal functioning of those systems. Assessment does not include the mechanism of one body system independent of others. Assessment is limited to the circulatory, excretory, digestive, respiratory, muscular, and nervous systems.
