Description
This editable 5th grade math foldable provides students with an organized set of guided practice problems for adding and subtracting fractions using models, specifically fraction strips. I have included 3 options - with the fraction strips included and labels, with fraction strips that are not labeled, and an option without the model at all. I have also included 10 pages worth of printable fraction strips to be used along-side the foldable, in case you don't have access to manipulatives.
Perfect for interactive math notebooks! I use this type of assignment during whole group guided instruction, but it also works great for intervention, small group, centers, or during a tutoring session. Since this foldable covers several skills, it would work great over the span of a few days or as a review activity.
Note: The whole numbers go to the billions, in some examples. If your grade level, or state standards do not go that far, you can easily edit those examples!
This download includes a print + go PDF version, as well as the editable PowerPoint file.
