Description

How do you get kids to understand variables are necessary for input and output when you're coding? You make them write them out over and over again! This package uses a case study approach so the kids can understand why variables are so important in coding. They're given 16 different word problems to practise before moving on to the next unit.

Why waste a good activity? These exercises can be used to create a full program in the next resource. Kids are assigned one of the 16 exercises to create a fully functional interactive program in the Python User Input resource.

You can use one of the 16 exercises assigned in Python User Input/Python Turtle User Input to create a fully functional interactive program.

Materials have also been modified in English (UK) where necessary.

Duration: Two 75-minute periods.

Google Classroom: Convert PowerPoint Presentations to Google Slides

This package includes 4 EDITABLE versions of the Student Word Problem Exercises:

✍ Version 1 Timeline only.

✍ Version 2 Timeline and marks prefilled.

✍ Version 3 Empty timeline and marks.

✍ Version 4 A single page of editable problems to add to the existing exercises. Version 4A has partially filled textboxes and in Version 4B the textboxes are completely empty waiting for you to enter your own word problems!
