Description

This is a collection of 12 Line Graphs.

  • These problems attack unit rates from a variety of different angles
  • This lesson can be used for homework, in class, test review, or as a group activity.
  • I have found it to be an excellent check for understanding. Students that crush this activity almost always have a strong understanding of unit rates.

Students will analyze a given graph then:

  1. Find the unit rate
  2. Create an equation to find the value of y
  3. Find the value of a random y value when given two x values. For example, if the unit rate is $20 per shirt the students might need to find the cost of 9 and 34 shirts.
  4. Find the value of a random x value when given an x value. For example, if the unit rate is $20 per shirt how many shirts can you get for $240?
  5. Complete a table using the unit rate.

The last two graphs use fractions/mixed numbers

Four of the graphs have unit rates with a decimal

Six of the graphs have unit rates with whole numbers
