This resource contains 10 informational passages about a topic that is sure to engage all of your learners: interesting and delicious foods around the world! These passages are excellent to practice close reading and reading comprehension skills, with a focus on using text evidence in order to answer questions about a passage. 

Each passage is paired with three comprehension questions, asking your student to find specific evidence from their text to support their answer. The questions are color-coded, so that your students can go back into the text and highlight or underline their evidence. Encourage students to repeat part of the question to begin their answers. 

This resource can be used for independent practice, whole group instruction, homework, or as an intervention resource for students struggling with this specific skill of reading comprehension/reading fluency/ answering questions about a text using text evidence.
