Celebrate Valentine's Day with our SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) craft: the Complement Jar! This fun and easy project is perfect for kids of all ages. On Valentine's Day (or any day!), have your child pick a compliment from the jar and read it out loud. This is a great way to encourage self-esteem and positive thinking.

directions:

  • Have each student decorate a jar.
  • In the first heart students will write a complement to themselves.
  • Place each students name in a bag.
  • Each day every student will pick a name out of the bag.
  • Whatever student they pick from the bag, they will write a complement to that student on a heart.
  • Students will add hearts in their jar throughout the week!
