Description

This Valentine's Day math 6th grade PBL is perfect to engage your middle schoolers this February! Based on grade 6 standards, it is perfect for use before February break or the week leading up to Valentine's Day! It focuses on skills learned in early middle school, and is appropriate as a fun and festive review for many grades.

Students use skills such as greatest common factor, unit rate, proportions, and percents to help with the planning of their holiday party. Real-life scenarios filled with Valentine's cheer are presented and students must use what they have learned in order to make sure their party goes off without a hitch! A great way to show the real-world applications of what they've learned in the classroom!

This resource is included in both print and digital formats and can be used in a variety of ways:

  • in pairs or threes as cooperative learning
  • an independent task
  • chunked into pieces for homework
  • stations
  • bell ringers

An answer key is included for you, making this activity low-prep and fun! Just print and go!.
