Make multiplication practice active, engaging, and strategy-filled with Hug the Heart: Multiply by 6! Students build fluency with the 6s facts as they roll, solve, and race to surround the heart. Instead of worksheets, students get repeated, meaningful practice through play — perfect for strengthening fact recall while keeping motivation high.

How to Play

  1. Roll a 12-sided die or roll two 6-sided dice. (If you are playing with two six-sided dice, have the students choose how 1 or 2 dice to roll each turn.)
  2. Multiply the number rolled by 6.
  3. Find the product on the game board.
  4. Cover the space with a counter
  5. Players take turns rolling and covering spaces.

Winning the Game:
The first player to cover the last space surrounding a heart “hugs” the heart and wins! ❤️

Materials

  • 12-sided die or two 6-sided dice (If you are playing with two six-sided dice, have the students choose how 1 or 2 dice to roll each turn.)
  • 20 counters per player (each player a different color)
