Description
The objective of this activity and assessment:
1. To learn how to add vectors using the graphical and the analytical way.
2. To learn how to verify and solve for the resultant vector.
3. To learn how to find the direction and magnitude of the equilibrant force.
The interactive simulation also includes pre-assessment questions about physical quantities and graphical method. It also include theoretical background information about the topic. In addition to post assessment questions to measure the students understandings
The formative assessments includes question styles: Multiple choice, true/false, short response and problem solving. I have created three different versions in case more that one physics sections are to take the assessment as a test or quiz. The objectives are:
- Distinguish between a scalar and a vector.
- Add and subtract vectors by using the graphical method.
- Apply the Pythagorean theorem and tangent function to calculate the magnitude and direction of a resultant vector.
- Adding perpendicular vectors algebraically
- Conditions for equilibrium and equilibrium vector diagrams.
- Resolve vectors into components using the sine and cosine functions.
- Add vectors that are not perpendicular.
