Description
This video art lesson show students how they can make a drawing "machine" using an old box, a pen and some string. The pen acts as a pendulum within the box and makes a mark on paper every time the box moves. Students can then be encouraged to wear the "machine" in a backpack and start walking, running and jumping to see what marks are made by different movements. It's a fun activity that engages students in creativity and physical exercise.
This is an ideal resource for students currently in lockdown because of Covid-19, but it is equally suited for use in the classroom.
Presented by Mael Matthews, experienced Art Teacher, Senior Art Examiner, Head of department and artist in his own right.
