Visual Calming Cards
Looking for a visual tool for your calm corner? The Calming Cards provide visual self-regulation strategies for students who require support to stay calm and focused in the classroom. By utilising these cards in your calm corner, students will be able to find a strategy that best suits their needs in order to self-regulate.
In this bundle pack, there are 4 different design schemes with 37 cards in each scheme to choose from:
- Bright Spotty
- Brown Spotty
- Neutral Floral
- Green Leafy
The 37 cards include a range of different strategies:
- Feelings: These tools use our senses to support regulation
- Thinking: These tools provide thought-based strategies to support regulation
- Goal-orientated: These tools involve taking action to help us regulate
- Connecting: These tools encourage accessing relationships for supporting us regulate.
- Movement: These tools use physical activity to impact regulation
Using these cards in my class has been a lifesaver, students have learnt how to manage their own emotions as well as implemented new skills such as requesting "a break”, ”seeking help" or “connecting with a peer” strategies.
