Description

These visual direction cards are a simple, visual way to help students stay on track—no repeating directions 100 times!

Say goodbye to “Wait, what are we supposed to be doing?” and hello to calm, independent learners with these Visual Direction Cards! Designed with clarity and student understanding in mind, these cards give your learners an easy way to follow multi-step instructions without needing constant reminders.

Perfect for:

  • Whole group lessons
  • Small group stations
  • Art and STEM centers
  • Independent work time
  • Classroom routines and transitions

These visual direction cards will help your students see and remember what you want them to do while building independence. These cards will help eliminate repeated questions about the directions they have been given.

These are perfect for the classroom and/or art room.

The questions for the board are

What supplies do I need?

Where does this go?

Where can I work?

Can I work with a friend?

What do I do when I'm done?

What is the task?

What do I do if I need help?

There are 66 cards included to answer the above questions.

The cards included are

What supplies do I need?: scissors, glue stick, pencil, glue, dry erase marker, markers, watercolor paint, clipboard, post-it note highlighter, reading book, math binder, science journal, writing journal, STEM log, daily take home folder, headphones, computer, tablet, whiteboard, colored pencils, paint brushes, eraser, large scissors, tempera paint, liquid watercolor paint, drying rack, paint pallet, water cup, paper towel, oil pastel, chalk pastel, art portfolio, trash bucket, tray, scrap paper, painting smock, sketchbook.

Where does this?: turn in bins, in my daily take-home binder, in my take-home binder, on my desk, in my mailbox, in my science journal, in my math binder, in my writing journal, in my backpack, in my math journal, in my STEM log, in my science journal, hand to the teacher, submit to teacher, class folder.

Where can I work?: at my desk, at my center, on the carpet, work around the room, at my table.

Can I work with a friend? Do it by yourself, collaborate with a buddy, share ideas, but complete your own work, and complete with the group.

What do I do if I need help? ask the teacher, raise my hand, ask a classmate.

These cards are bright, kid-friendly, and super easy to display—use a pocket chart, whiteboard magnets, or clip them on a ring for easy flipping!

Bonus:

These visual direction cards also align with SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) goals, like:

  • Self-management (following directions independently)
  • Social awareness (collaborating or working with a friend)
  • Responsible decision-making (knowing what to do when finished or needing help)

TEACHERS LIKE YOU SAID…

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Alexandra Z. says, "By far the best purchase experience I've had anywhere! Jenette is amazing and has been extremely friendly and even more helpful! I teach art to preschool through 8th grade, all in the same room, which obviously includes students from a wide range of ages and abilities. These labels are exactly what I needed to help with the chaos. I've only used them one day and I've spent a considerably less amount of time repeating to students what they need, where it goes when finished, and more! The pictures help a lot for the younger students who are still learning to read, and the title cards saying where things go after, where to work, and especially the needed supplies only make things clearer for the students. Jenette went above and beyond for me even adding additional cards with more art supplies on them. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend these cards and this seller!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sarah C. says, "These are SO helpful in building students' independence! I no longer have to answer a million questions-I just point to the board. Thank you!!"

This resource was very necessary for my bilingual group of students. I teach first grade, and I gave it a trial run at the end of the year to see if it was something I would want to use at the beginning of the year. It proved to be extremely helpful. Thank you for sharing.
