This product consists of a 45 slide Math PowerPoint presentation that walks students through the steps of solving two similar story problems. One introduces the concept and is only four slides long, while the other expands on it with more complexity. There is also a PDF version of the presentation included in case you don't have PowerPoint or you want to print it out for students to do on paper.

Visuals accompany each step of the problem solving process. After the question is presented the first slides do everything for the students to show them how it is done. With each passing slide assistance is gradually removed (instructional scaffolds) until the student is working through the rest of the problem on their own. Answer Key slides proceed after each problem.

This activity is geared toward K-2, special education, and visual learners that struggle greatly with attempting even the most basic math story problems. This product serves as a starting point for teachers to build upon. The slides I created were not made in PowerPoint, so they're not editable; however, I do provide usable art from the presentation at the end, so if you and the class want to expand upon the math story, you have the tools to do so. Keep in mind you'll need at least a working knowledge of PowerPoint to accomplish it.
