Description

They read the word problem, but they picked the wrong operation. Isn't it obvious that you need to subtract? How can I help my kids understand the difference between the four operations?

Use these simple visuals to guide your students to pick the correct operation! These simple visuals for the four basic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) make the meaning behind them obvious.

Blank versions are also included to be used as graphic organizers for students: they can organize the information they find in a word problem to figure out which operation fits best.

Use these as templates for classroom charts, or as reference handouts in students' binders.

Operations are presented individually and in conjunction with the other operations depending on what your students already know.
