Description

Whether individuals participate in competitive employment or sheltered employment, they need to be able to calculate their net pay (take home). Individuals can be paid in a variety of ways: hourly, by piece, commission, or salary. However, individuals are paid, there will be deductions taken out of their paycheck. It can be a shock to see how much money is taken from your gross pay. I also have a digital resource focusing on gross pay.

This is a great transition activity and can also be tied to vocational or math goals on a student's IEP. There are 24 slides with three sentences giving the reader information about gross pay and deduction amount. Numbers are color coded for easy reference and calculation.

This is truly a digital resource all slides have three text boxes already and are color coded and size 22 font. This resource can be used in a variety of ways: whole group instruction with an interactive whiteboard or interdependently with a paper and pen (print multiple slides on a page) or digitally. Whatever works for you and your classroom. I find this helpful because I never know if we are in person or virtual from week to week.

This was a great resource because it provided students with a lot of repetition to learn how to perform these calculations
