If you are getting ready to teach a unit introducing volume, these lesson slides will be a timesaver! Just work your way through the skills you need to teach. Many of the slides are animated and editable.
The following skills are presented:
- Finding volume by counting cubes (watch out for those hidden ones!)
- Finding volume by cutting a rectangular prism built with cubes into layers and multiplying cubes in a layer by the number of layers (decomposing layers)
- multiplying length x width x height
- volume with words
- Finding the missing side when given volume and 2 side lengths
- volume of composite figures (additive volume)
