All Volume Mini Lessons are leveled to ensure students get opportunities to demonstrate learning in a variety of ways, which better prepares them for standardized testing. Each level comes with two skill specific worksheets with simplified step by step notes in the left column. Students can easily reference these notes when working,which will increase likelihood of mastery. The additional two columns provide ample opportunities for reinforcement.
Cone and Cylinder Mini Lessons Levels 1 - 3
At each level, the first worksheet is designed for direct instruction by the teacher.These worksheets contain stated learner objective (LO),step by step lessons, eight guided and / or independent practice problems,and two demonstration of learning problems (DOLs) that the teacher can use to measure student understanding. The second worksheet provides homework review that directly aligns with the day’s lesson. Additional mixed review worksheets provide the essential review and reteach needed to ensure mastery. These are great for bell-ringers,sub days,and homework.
Struggling learners usually have processing deficits that interfere with their ability to take effective notes during lessons. This causes them to become frustrated,shut down academically, and often to disrupt the learning of others. Using these materials dramatically improved my student’s participation in classand their willingness to complete homework. As a result, they consistently scored significantly higher on end of year standardized tests.
