This worksheet allows students to work independently, cooperatively, with a coordinated lab, or as teacher-guided practice and is a must prior to teaching density. It contains a definition of volume and how it pertains to everyday use. There are 10 problems. Reinforcing the importance of using the formula to organize and solve the problems of determining volume. Questions encourage cognitive thinking and math use. Students will compare volume of random materials and objects. I encourage teachers to amend the work sheet to be applicable to the students' abilities and grade level.
